A CULTIVATED MODERNISM

Charles Zana knows the language of art and design well enough to take liberties with it. Having studied architecture at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, he approaches the decorative arts with an instinct for what can be moved, mixed or transformed. Music, cinema, travel and encounters continually renew his outlook, shaping his sense of atmosphere as much as his knowledge of forms.

Founded in 1990, his studio is located on rue de Seine, at the heart of the antiques district that continues to inspire him. Architects, interior designers and furniture designers work within a wider community of artists, craftspeople and collectors. Exhibitions beyond the studio’s walls open these exchanges to a broader public, bringing furniture, artworks and objects into new constellations.
